Let's Collaborate!

Extending Our Reach

Empowering the youth one workshop at a time.

This initiative aims to empower youth beyond HBZ by providing a range of workshops based on the pursuit of education, self-confidence, character, and wellness. This initiative aims to create a pathway to collaborate and build relationships with individuals, organizations, and institutions with similar values of empowering the youth with tools to help them succeed when building their independence. All workshops are facilitated by Jamani King, Executive Director/Founder of HBZ.

Personal Growth & Development

Personal Growth is a continuous journey and can be different for every person. There are common aspects that all people can benefit from, such as embracing a growth mindset, goal setting,  communication skills, and how to navigate their different emotions to increase emotional intelligence.

Body Image

Loving our physical form is important to our mental and emotional state. Our bodies will continue to change as we go through life and maintaining a healthy body image means you accept yourself as you are and as your body changes.

Enhancing Resilience

Failing is a part of life and it’s important to understand how to process failure, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and enhance personal resilience.

Girl Empowerment

A safe space to discuss the pressures that affect pre-teen and teen girls providing them with tools to help them navigate relationships, how they view themselves, and the drama that often comes from gossip.

Wellness

Learning how to lead a healthy and nutritious life to best support students’ physical, emotional, and mental well-being. What we put in our bodies is vital to our overall health, workshops can also explore the negative effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.

College Readiness

In addition to understanding the full application process, the resources available and the experience students can gain to complement their college application. It’s also important for students to know how to govern their lives with self-discipline, time management, healthy relationships, and effective planning.

Classroom
I especially enjoyed your workshops. I feel they taught me a lot of valuable information, especially regarding college and careers.

I struggle a lot with myself. Nursing is very competitive, and I feel like I’m probably not going to get in, but my mentor, Ms. Jamani King, saw my passion and told me I could do it if I put my mind to it. She has helped me realize I have potential to do more than I expect.

When you talk to us I can feel your intentions & passion to help us with these opportunities & for us to grow.
